Community
The community section of the publisher workspace gives publishers tools to manage their package forums, engage with Q&A, view their post history, and track their follower growth.
Package Forum Management
Each published package automatically gets a dedicated forum. As the publisher, you are the moderator of your package forums — you can pin threads, mark accepted answers, hide inappropriate replies, and post announcements.
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Pin Thread | Pin an important thread to the top of the package forum — e.g., "Known Issues", "Configuration Guide" |
| Mark Accepted Answer | In Question threads, mark one reply as the accepted answer — earns +5 pts for the answerer |
| Hide Reply | Hide an inappropriate reply from public view without deleting it — visible to you and admins |
| Post Announcement | Create a pinned announcement — displayed at the top of the forum, subscribers notified |
| Lock Thread | Prevent new replies to a thread — useful for resolved issue threads |
Q&A Response Queue
The community section shows a response queue — unanswered questions across all your package forums, sorted by age (oldest first). This gives publishers a focused inbox for community support without having to monitor each package forum individually.
Responding quickly to questions in this queue directly improves the publisher's "Response Time" badge on their public profile — a key trust signal for prospective users.
Follower Count
Users can "Follow" a publisher to receive notifications when you publish new packages or post announcements. The community section shows your total follower count and a 30-day growth chart.
Post an announcement in your package forum whenever you release a new version. Followers and forum subscribers receive immediate notifications — bringing them back to check the changelog. Announcements with "what's new" highlights outperform release-only notifications in driving upgrade adoption.
